Freshwater scarcity due to the region’s semi-arid climate is a challenge shared by both countries. After drawing on nearly all available water resources and promoting vigorous conservation programs, Israel has made it a national mission to develop non-conventional water sources. These efforts have focused on water reclamation, intercepting runoffs, artificial recharge, “cloud seeding” and desalination.
