Sensibo has developed a small attachable pod that can transform any remote-controlled air conditioning unit into smart unit. Controlled by the Sensibo app, the device optimizes temperature based on the users predetermined settings, making remote and manual adjustments unnecessary. The device clips into a plastic mount that attaches to the A/C unit with 3M Command tape. It connects to the unit through infrared communication and requires no setup. Sensibo also offers a hub that centralizes control of multiple pods and their A/C units. The hub plugs into the users router, which serves as a bridge between the pods and the app. With the app, users can set timers, fan speeds, and temperature settings. The pods are equipped with sensors that are governed by algorithms to detect and mediate the temperature. The Sensibo pods operate on CR123A batteries that last for three to six months, supplemented by radio duty cycling (RDC). The system is based on an open API to enable developers to contribute their A/C programs. The devices are IFTTT-enabled.
